Eggs. The perfect supplement to any breakfast. Eggs are full of protein and can provide a much-needed energy boost to the start of your day. One of the best things about eggs is their versatility. Let’s take a look at some of the limitless ways you can prep an egg for your breakfast.

1. The Obvious

Let’s get these out of the way. Everyone has encountered a hard boiled, scrambled, sunny side up, or deviled egg at some point in their lives. Most of us have at least some level of skill in preparing these. So, just in case you didn’t know – these exist. Good. We’ve covered the obvious. Moving on!

2. Soft Boiled

Soft boiled eggs are similar to the hard boiled egg but, good news, they take less time to make! By cutting the time in which the eggs are boiled approximately in half, the yolk remains runny and warm while the egg whites develop the firmer texture of hard boiled eggs.

3. The Frittata

A frittata is an open-faced omelette. Often, vegetables and other ingredients are mixed in. Frittatas take on a more defineable structure than omelettes, often being served like a slice of pie. This is because they are typically made in a pie tin (or other geometric container). Frittatas are a great way to look fancy in front of your brunch guests!

4. Poached Eggs

Poached eggs are prepared using one of the more odd methods of preparation. Water is heated to a point just shy of its boiling point. A dash of vinegar is often added for flavor. A whirlpool is created with a spoon before the egg is cracked and dropped in. The whirlpool helps keep the egg whites from spreading everywhere. After about five minutes, the egg should have a soft, creamy texture. Enjoy!

5. Soft Scrambled Eggs

We all know scrambled eggs. We’ve established that. Soft scrambled eggs, however, take a bit more work. These softer, melt-in-your-mouth eggs can be achieved by heating your pan to a medium heat, adding some milk or cream to your eggs for texture, and cooking them for a shorter time than traditional scrambled eggs. If you can master the soft scrambled egg, you may never go back!
